Life Groups
“Jesus paid much too high a price for us to pick and choose who should come. We are the body of Christ.”
– Casting Crowns.

At First Baptist Church we want everyone to feel like they have a place to belong, a place to establish relationships, connect with others and share their life through the joyous times, the unbearable times and all the times in between. A life group can be a bible study, a service ministry, a prayer group or have a common interest like health and fitness, or a common ministry such as music. First Baptist Church has many different life groups available to join. Men, women, children, youth, young adults, young couples and groups that share common interests and always welcome new members. Take a look below to find a life group you’d like to join.

About: The desire for the ministry called Youth Group is to provide a safe environment in which all, including the stranger amongst us, can feel welcome and a sense belonging.
Fridays – what do they look like: There is no norm. Here is a list of some of the weekly activities to give you an idea: bowling, swimming at pool, Mission Impossible, Thrive, four way soccer (with a moon ball), 30 Hour Famine, board games, wide games like Alien. We try most weeks to also have the band play as we sing along.

If you would like to join us on Fridays, you are more than welcome. Be sure to fill out the Yearly Release Form and check the Weekly Newsletter or the churches website calendar to be sure where we are and what we are doing.

July.
Ski Trip: We join with the young adults and head to Smithers for a weekend of skiing. Our sister church in Kitimat joins with us. January.

Fundraising:
It is important to us that none should be unable to attend any event due to financing. Therefore, fundraisers become an integral part of our ministry. Here are some examples.

Valentine Dinner: A romantic evening provided for the adults. An offering is taken afterwards. It is a big hit.
Bottle Drives: No explanation needed here. Collect cans and bottles, exchange them for $$$.

Contemplative Worship
Contemplative Worship is a time in which we quiet ourselves in order to open our souls to the ministry of God within. Contemplative Worship waits for God in the silence; in the stillness we hear the voice of God with our hearts. Contemplative Worship is an opportunity to find our spiritual rhythm in the rhythm of Jesus, a rhythm of moving into prayer and communion with God before going out to engage the world in meaningful ministry.
