About First Baptist Church

First Baptist has changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained the same: our love and devotion to Jesus Christ and connecting people with God. As we celebrate our life in Christ and strive to be more like Him, First Baptist continues to reach out to the Prince George community to spread to good word of our Lord. Helping lead this mission is the Pastoral and Church Staff who bring with them a variety of skills and backgrounds.

Our Staff

Pat MacDonald	Position: Associate Pastor of Youth & Young Adults About Pastor Pat: Pat is First Baptist’s Associate Pastor of Youth and Young Adults. He leads the Friday night Youth Groups and participates with the Young Adults groups, encouraging faith and fun while spreading the Word of Christ. Pastor Pat is also involved in mission ministry. He just recently returned from El Salvador where he used his construction background to help build homes. Before that Pat was in Kenya helping with the Cell Phone Lady Project and soon he will be off to Quebec to help build more homes. Ten years ago Pat was a volunteer leader of the youth and young adults at First Baptist. Although he had his sights set on forestry technology, God had other plans and Pat found himself at Bible school where everything fell into place. Pat worked five years in Port Alberni as a Children’s and Youth Pastor and another five years in Victoria before joining the Baptist Union Youth Leadership team. Now, at First Baptist, Pat finds himself where he “was meant to be.” What you didn’t know about Pastor Pat: Loves anything on two wheels including dirt bikes, street bikes and mountain bikes. He likes to go caving in sinkholes and mine shafts, especially in tight spots. Played the clarinet in high school. Was nicknamed Bob Rock by some neighbour kids for no apparent reason. Wayne Morgan	Position: Associate Pastor of Music & Arts About Pastor Wayne: Wayne loves the idea of expressing faith and worship in ways besides singing so it is fitting that he is the Associate Pastor of Music and Arts at First Baptist encouraging actors, artists, writers and musicians to use their gifts to give glory to God. Wayne himself is an avid bass and guitar player joining in at the Christian Life Centre and during Sunday morning services. Wayne is a longtime familiar face at church; his father Lance founded First Baptist. Wayne always felt God calling him to follow in his father’s footsteps, but he found himself constantly running away from it. When he finally said yes, he never looked back. Recently Wayne and his family moved back to Prince George from Nelson, where Wayne was senior pastor. Back at First Baptist Wayne likes the balance of preaching, mentoring and reaching out to the community. What you didn’t know about Pastor Wayne: His first name is actually David; his middle name is Wayne. He likes a triple tall decaf Americano from Starbucks. He recently traveled to Turkey. Kimi Orton	Position: Associate Pastor of Children's Ministries About Kimi: Kimi is the Children's Ministries Coordinator at First Baptist Church. She teaches children about Jesus through Jump Street, Girls for God and the Christian Service Brigade on Wednesday nights as well as Super Kids Sundays during the regular church service. Three months after becoming a Christian Kimi began teaching Sunday school, but found the kids were actually teaching her about God. She bought a children’s bible to learn the stories of Noah and Moses in order to catch up with her students. Kimi and her family recently moved back to Prince George after being away for 6 and a half years. Kimi worked as a Children's Pastor at Gracepoint Community Church in South Surrey for more than five years and attended Bible College in Surrey. What you didn’t know about Kimi: She teaches scrapbooking classes at the Scrapbook Zone. She was involved in 4H for 10 years with pigs, rabbits, leather craft and clothing. She used to design and sell kids clothing. Loves romantic movies, her favourites being Ever After and Never Been Kissed. Contact:
Lance Morgan	Position: Pastor Emeritus About Pastor Lance: The cornerstone of the church, Lance & his wife, Pat, first started at FBC in 1962 with a congregation of 7 people. His laughter and love for God shows in the people they have reached and continue to reach to this day.
Krysia Primus	Position: Office Secretary About Krysia: Krysia attended First Baptist Church for 21 years and was involved in several different areas of ministry including children’s programs, youth leadership, and the pastoral search committee. Krysia now attends Overcoming Faith Christian Center with her husband and is delighted to become reacquainted with the First Baptist family while working in the office.
